This practical program covers a range of units within the SHB40115 Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy qualification. It is an entry-level program for those who wish to embark upon a career in the beauty industry. It covers manicure, pedicure, nail art, nail science, brow waxing and eyelash tinting.
The program is conducted during one, four hour session per week for a period of 20 weeks. Short, intensive programs are run during school holidays. For more information, please contact our Student Liaison Manager.
Full fee: $2100.
Yr 11 & 12: $950. Students currently studying in Year 11 or 12 at an ACT or NSW College/High School receive over a 50% discount. This program may be completed as an ‘E’ course and counted towards your Higher School Certificate or Year 12 Certificate. All materials are provided. Students are expected to purchase a CMA T-shirt to wear to class. T-shirt cost: $30.
This program does not require any pre-requisite studies.
The academy trains with specialised, up to date equipment and quality skin care products. Our facility includes comprehensive treatment areas, makeup workshops; massage stations and a fully equipped IT room. Students have access to CMA’s online learning management system, providing access to assessment tasks, additional learning resources, demonstration videos, practical notes and procedures, online quizzes, forum discussion and ongoing trainer support. A selection of relevant books is available to all participants for research and reference. Recreation areas and kitchen facilities are also available on site.
A personal interview may be arranged with the Academy’s Student Liaison Manager. During this interview we will discuss the course content in detail and answer any questions you may have. As placements are limited, the prospective student’s suitability may also be assessed. You may enrol by completing an enrolment form. Please note: this program is currently only available to students enrolled in Secondary College.
A $500 deposit is required to secure your placement. This is deducted from the total tuition fee payable.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Previous work experience or training courses may enable us to deem you competent in certain areas, which will allow exemption from some modules. This process is referred to as ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ (RPL). As a Registered Training Organisation delivering nationally recognised training, CMA can assist you with this process.
CAREER AND LEARNING PATHWAYS
Upon successful completion of this program you may receive credit towards the SHB30115 Certificate III in Beauty Services, SHB40115 Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy and SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy. Further, additional study may also include photography and/or hairdressing.
