This practical program covers a range of units within the SHB20116 Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics qualification. It is an entry-level program for those who wish to embark upon a career in either the makeup or beauty industries. It covers makeup design, makeup application for day wear, special occasions, photographic makeup, tools of the trade and product purpose.
The program is conducted during one, three hour session per week for a period of 18 weeks. Short, intensive programs are run during school holidays. For more information, please contact our Student Liaison Manager.
Full fee: $2100.
Yr 11 & 12: $950. Students currently studying in Year 11 or 12 at an ACT or NSW College/High School receive over a 50% discount. This program may be completed as an ‘E’ course and counted towards your Higher School Certificate or Year 12 Certificate. For more information, please contact your school’s VET Co-ordinator or CMA’s Student Liaison Manager.
A $300 basic kit fee applies. This kit becomes the property of the student once purchased. Students are expected to purchase a CMA T-shirt to wear to class. T-shirt cost: $30.
This program does not require any pre-requisite studies.
The academy is designed with individual, illuminated workstations for each participant. A fully equipped computer lab is also available onsite for student use. Students have access to CMA’s online learning management system, providing access to assessment tasks, additional learning resources, demonstration videos, practical notes and procedures, online quizzes, forum discussion and ongoing trainer support. A selection of relevant books is available to all participants for research and reference. Recreation areas and kitchen facilities are also available on site.
A personal interview may be arranged with the Academy’s Student Liaison Manager. During this interview we will discuss the course content in detail and answer any questions you may have. As placements are limited, the prospective student’s suitability may also be assessed. You may enrol by completing an enrolment form. Please note: this program is currently only available to students enrolled in Secondary College.
A $500 deposit is required to secure your placement. This is deducted from the total tuition fee payable.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Previous work experience or training courses may enable us to deem you competent in certain areas, which will allow exemption from some modules. This process is referred to as ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ (RPL). As a Registered Training Organisation delivering nationally recognised training, CMA can assist you with this process.
CAREER AND LEARNING PATHWAYS
Upon successful completion of this program you may receive credit towards the SHB20116 Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics , SHB40115 Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy and SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy.
